What is Botox®?

In addition, make sure to let your provider know about the medications, vitamins, and supplements you take daily. 

If you take blood thinners or another similar medication, your provider might ask you to stop for a few days before getting Botox. That’s because it can reduce the risk of bruising.

What does a Botox appointment involve?

At Everyday Urgent Care, a Botox appointment is a quick, outpatient procedure that takes 30-45 minutes. 

Before administering the injections, your Everyday Urgent Care provider numbs your skin with a topical anesthetic. Once the anesthesia sets in, your provider administers a series of injections between your eyebrows and the outside edges of your eyes. Afterward, you can return to work and other activities right away.

Are Botox injections safe?

Botox injections are safe and usually well-tolerated, but they can present risks. For example, following Botox treatment, you might experience:

• Neck pain
• Headache
• Double vision
• Allergic reaction, like itchy or red skin
• Tiredness

These symptoms are typically mild and should subside within a day or two. If they persist, get worse, or interfere with your daily routine, contact the team at Everyday Urgent Care right away.

Are the results that Botox provides permanent?

The cosmetic results that Botox provides aren’t permanent, but they typically last 3-4 months* and sometimes longer. To keep your skin looking youthful and vibrant, the team at Everyday Urgent Care recommends scheduling follow-up injections every several months. 

What is recovery like after Botox?

Following your Botox appointment, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area. Doing so can spread the formula into other parts of your body. It’s also important you avoid bending over or lying down for at least four hours.
